LP 029: Tony Hatch And The Satin Brass - Sounds Of The 70s (Pye, 1970)

Side 1
01 Laia Ladaia
02 For Once In My Life
03 Hey Jude
04 Soulful Strut
05 I'll Never Fall In Love Again
06 Herbin'

Side 2
07 Latin Satin
08 Yester-Me, Yester-You, Yesterday
09 Something
10 Codename
11 This Guy's In Love With You
12 Sounds Of The 70s

Two things make this album so different from many of its contemporaries:

1) The quality of the session men - Dennis Lopez, Roger Coulam, Alan Hawkshaw, Herbie Flowers.

2) The top-notch original tunes - especially Herbin', Codename and the storming title track with its moon dialogue.

There are no weak links on this one, just quality easy grooves and full sound.
A great way to start off the decade.

Comments and feedback are welcome.
